Music star, Augustine Kelechi, alias Tekno was on Tuesday arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for breaching public decency with an outdoor advertising displaying semi-nude women. According to Nation newspaper, the singer was quizzed for several hours at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Panti, Yaba before being granted administrative bail on health grounds. Tekno came under fire last week  after a mobile advertisement displayed scantily dressed girls dancing seductively in a transparent glass box on a truck while he sprayed money on them along the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge. Although the singer issued a public apology explaining that it was not an advert but a scene in a video he was currently shooting, the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) suspended the advertising firm, Pro-Vision Media Systems Limited whose van was used. The Lagos State Signage & Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has reacted to a viral video on social media wherein music star, Tekno is seen with semi-nude women dancing in an outdoor mobile advertising truck. The footage was captured around the Lekki/Ikoyi Toll Gate at the weekend. Mobolaji Sanusi, LASAA Managing Director, in a statement, said while the agency is working on ascertaining the status of the truck with Lagos State plate number, no outdoor mobile advert truck is licensed to display “such crass immorality”. It noted that the government of Lagos, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, has zero tolerance for any slightest attempt by anyone, under any guise, to debase the moral fabric of the state. “Nobody can hide under the guise of engaging in outdoor advertising business to display obscenity that is antithetical to our cherished cultural and moral values”, the statement read. “The full weight of the law, as enshrined in the Agency’s extant law,

Tekno speaks on his vocal ailment, Ubi Franklin, Iyanya’s alleged ‘involvement’ in his ordeal

Nigerian singer, Tekno, who has been absent for months in the music industry has given details on his struggles with his vocal cords ailment. Tekno’s vocal box had been temporarily damaged and he might not be able to sing or perform for a period of time. Tekno speaking in a recent interview with Daddy Freeze revealed that he was operated on by a robot and that he now carries a magnetic device in his system. Narrating his ordeal, Tekno said he went through hell trying to cure his ailment and had spent months and millions of naira on hospital bills. He added that during his travails, people speculated that Ubi Franklin and Iyanya were behind it since his contract with the producer was about to expire. However, it is not the case. But a few days ago, he confirmed that an album is imminent and that a song, titled 'Right Here,' which is set to feature  2Face  and  Jeremih  will be on the album.
